A first for New Zealand

In a first for New Zealand Agpac and their recycling partner, Mastagard, have recycled the farm films collected through Agpac's Product Stewardship scheme in New Zealand. Mastagard's General Manager, Sebastian Stapleton, said "At best estimate 4000 tonnes of used agricultural film is being burnt or buried in New Zealand's landscape every year, something no one can be proud of. Mastagard now has the only facility in this country that can wash, dry and extrude agricultural film. We can process more than 4000 tonnes per year converting it into high quality plastic pellets"
The Mastagard reprocessing plant also has the ability to handle agrichemical plastics and Agpc will expand its recycling programme to include agrichemical containers in the New Year.
